Working on something good? Let’s talk.

If your project helps people or the planet and the budget is small, a license fee should not stop you. Students and teachers get our plugins for free. Schools, universities, and non-profits get a lower price.

Free of charge

Student projects

Are you learning web development and building something with Kirby? You can use our plugins for free on your personal portfolio, your thesis, or any other project that is part of your studies.

The free license is for non-commercial work. If you build a website for a paying client, or if the project starts to earn money, you need a regular license.

To apply, send us your student ID or another document that shows you are enrolled. Also tell us which plugins you need and the domain of the website.

Teaching and workshops

Do you teach web development or design with Kirby at a school, a university, or in a workshop? We want to make it easy for you to show what Kirby and our plugins can do.

Your free licenses cover your demo projects, your teaching material, and the websites your participants build during the course.

Tell us about your course, the institution, and the approximate number of participants. We then send you the licenses you need.

Reduced price

Schools and universities

Schools, universities, academies, and other places of learning get a lower price for their websites. This includes the main website, as well as websites for faculties, institutes, and research projects.

Send us the name of your organization, the websites, and the plugins you need. We then make you an offer.

Charities and non-profits

Do you work for a charity, a social or environmental organization, or a non-profit project with little funding? We are happy to support work that makes life better for people and the planet.

Tell us about your organization, your mission, and how you fund your work. We look at each request individually and make you an offer that fits your budget.

Tell us about your project at support@andkindness.com and we will find a solution together.

Frequently asked questions

What do I get?

After checkout, you receive a separate license key for each paid plugin and website. We send the keys by email and add them to your account.

Can I try the plugins before I buy?

You can install and test our plugins locally or on a restricted development or client-preview server for as long as necessary. You need a license before the website goes live or handles production data.

Which license type do I need?

Choose the same license type as the Kirby CMS license for the website.

The Basic license is for websites whose owner or client has less than €1 million in total yearly revenue or funding. Revenue means net sales or turnover, not profit, from all activities.

The Enterprise license has no revenue or funding limit. We assess the limit at the time of purchase. A later increase does not change an existing license.

How do I register a plugin license?

Install the plugin and open its license screen in the Kirby Panel. Enter your license key and the email address used during checkout. The plugin registers the current production domain and then validates the license regularly.

Development and restricted preview installations do not require registration. Register the license when the website is ready for production.

Do I need a separate license for every website?

Each paid plugin license covers one specific website. If you use the same plugin on another website, you need another license.

A multilingual website with one shared content folder counts as one website, even when its languages use different domains. Local development and restricted preview installations do not need separate licenses.

Does the website need an internet connection?

A licensed production website regularly connects to our license server to validate its license. If your production environment cannot make external connections, contact support@andkindness.com for an offline license.

Is the license a subscription, and which updates are included?

The license is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. It includes all minor and patch updates for the licensed plugin version. A future major version can require a paid upgrade. Your current licensed version continues to work.

Do you offer volume discounts?

Discounts apply automatically when you buy multiple licenses for the same plugin:

  • 5% from 5 licenses
  • 10% from 10 licenses
  • 15% from 15 licenses

For higher quantities, contact support@andkindness.com.

How can I pay, and will I receive an invoice?

Paddle processes payments securely. The available methods depend on your country and device. Paddle shows them during checkout.

Paddle also issues the invoice. You can download it from your account after the purchase. To change your invoice details, go to Paddle.net.

Can I request a refund?

You can request a refund within 14 days of purchase. Submit your request through Paddle.net.

Where can I manage my licenses?

Sign in to your account with the email address used during checkout. You can view your license keys, registered websites, license details, and invoices there.

What support is included?

Email support is available to owners of active paid licenses. Send your question to support@andkindness.com. You can find the full conditions in the license agreement.
